With more and more schools becoming peanut and nut free, parents are faced with finding peanut butter substitutes.  Luckily, there are many options available on the market that not only provide much needed protein and vitamins, but also satisfy that PB taste and consistency.

More importantly, as a food allergy parent, I find myself seeking out information about how these peanut butter alternatives are manufactured and processed. Since this goes beyond label reading, I’ve included these main points under each product description.

These peanut butter alternatives also serve as a great way of changing up your everyday breakfast spreads, office lunch and late night or daytime snack.

WowButterCreamy

WowButter (Creamy) 

Ingredients: Toasted Soy, Soy Oil, Granulated Cane Sugar, Monoglyceride , Sea Salt

100% peanut, tree nut, gluten and dairy free.

Made in a peanut, tree nut, gluten, dairy and egg free facility.


SunButter (Creamy)

Ingredients: Roasted Sunflower Seed, Sugar, Monoglycerides, Salt.

Peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, wheat, fish, shellfish and soy free + gluten and sesame free.

Processed in a facility free from top 8 allergens. (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, wheat, fish, shellfish and soy).


Barney Butter Almond Butter (Smooth)

Ingredients: Blanched Roasted Almonds, Organic & Fair Trade Cane Sugar, Palm Fruit Oil, Sea Salt.

Certified peanut-free and gluten free facility.

Does not process any other tree nuts in their facility (walnuts, cashews, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts, pistachios, etc.)

Does not process any dairy, eggs, grain, soy, or fish products of any kind.

Lotus Biscoff Cookie Butter

  1. These are such great options that I did not even know existed! My daughter has a peanut sensitivity, but I am always hesitant to give her to ouch peanut anything. I would love for her to experience the flavor without me having to worry!
